Here are some more before and after pictures.
The following photos will demonstrate how the items looked before I finished them. In the case of the leather work, the pictures will show the uncolored leather after I finished tooling the item and how it looks after being dyed. The upholstery pictures will show how badly damaged an article is and how much a new color of fabric can change the furniture.
For prices on any of the finished items please feel free to e-mail me at pat22e@yahoo.com

This is a before and after of the candle holder from the photo page
This candle holder is a Joe Barth design. The tooling design is mine. I like his style of things to make, but not necessarily his tooling on the items. I usually choose my own designs and change the shape occasionally. I have a crystal ball holder of his design that is tooled with roses and hummingbirds. In the spring, I will put it on this site.

Before Picture of My Niece Jaime's Chair
This chair is one of 6 that go to a dining room table that is antique. The old covering is a tapestry weight fabric. When we removed the first layer, underneath was burgundy velvet upholstery. It was in really bad shape, but must have been good for its time.
After I Worked On It

This is the chair that I redid. The fabric is a velvet style and could have been used on either side as both were nice. She, Jaime, had to be sure which side she liked because the fabric became discontinued after we bought it. One needs to get enough fabric for each project so no shortages occur.

Cost--$75.00 with out nails    $100.00 with nails

Louella's Couch Before
This is a picture of a couch of a customer with whom I have worked before. She has unusual tastes and the projects turn out to be one of a kind. Her dressing table chair is on the first photo page of this site.
This is Louella's Couch After I Followed Her Color Scheme

This color scheme that the customer chose, is a bit unusual. There was not enough of the print material to do the whole couch in--for which I was grateful. In using the print as an accent material, I think the couch says more about the owner. The pillows are reversible and the buttons are different on the other side--yellow to match the seat cushion. In my business, my customer does the designing and I do the work. I now have a designer on my staff who guides the customer to make more suitable choices, but this style & choice fit this customer very well.

Cost--$600.00

Chet's Office--Before
This is the before picture of the room I fixed up for my Step-dad, Chet. He and my Mom had moved into a house that my brother, Steve, owns. This room is in the front of the house.
Chet's Room--After

This room has 2 windows. The shades were each falling off their holders so I went and covered the walls with fabric and made fabric shades. The fabric is a Ford motif and the bottom of the walls and some trim is plain red fabric. My brother did not want me to remove the wallpaper so I tacked the fabric over it with decorative tacks. The shade material is really supposed to be in a quilt but looks better as shades.

Cost--Roman Shade--$75.00  They are now for sale due to Chet moving.  The walls cost--$100.00 to do. That material is now for sale.

Shades--$50.00 for the shade material--shade material is not found any more    Material on the walls-- $50.00 for all-again it is not found anywhere anymore. There is enough material to make a lap quilt for a Ford fan.

Sad Looking Chair
This wing chair is an antique and was in need of repair desparately. I had to reglue the one arm as well as retie the springs and reattach them. That is extra but if the customer is a regular, then the cost is lessened somewhat. I put the old horsehair back on the chair and also added some extra padding.
Chair When Finished

Here is the chair after I reupholstered it. I used an upholstery weight seude cloth that gave the chair a look of leather suede. The back of the chair and around the arms is trimmed in antiqued brass nails--the real kind that you have to attach 1 by 1. I feel that they look better and give a more professional look to the project rather than the type that is plastic and you can buy by the yard and only use a real nail every so often. I also repaired a broken arm, re attached the loose springs & retied them.

Cost--$300.00 because of the extra work. They usually run $250.00 with nails  $200.00 with out nails

Lynn's Sofa Before

This is the before picture of the sofa that I did for a client. The after picture is over on my other web site--angelfire. It is on the 3rd page of that site. The address to it is over on the links page. This gives you an idea of what I had to work with and though the sofa was not in bad shape, it was different in construction than I have done. Very well constructed.

Cost to reupholster--$750.00 plain material  $850.00 with plaid or print due to having to match the material in so many places.

Mom's Antique Chair

This cair was in sad shape when I tackled it. It was a sentimental restoration project. The chair used to be my Grandmother's vanity chair. It had horsehair stuffing. I did not replace that but used foam instead. Since I did not need to be authentic, it was okay to improvise. I changed the construction of both the seat and back as the wood was also in very sad shape. I used plywood under the foam for both the seat and the back. I only improvise if the customer okays it, otherwise I replace with what was there before if possible.

This style chair--Cost--$75.00

Lynn's Chair Before
This chair goes in the same living room as the sofa up above. The construction on this chair was different in the way the back cushion was put together. It is 2 cushions shingled one on top of the other. There are zippers in the back of each cushion which allows for easy removal. It was another well constructed piece.
This Is The Same Chair-After

The material she chose had some flowers woven into the fabric. It was a nice close woven fabric. It will hold up well in a home with a teenager. We added more padding both to the lower back cushion and to the seat cushion.

Cost- $375.00  With a more dramatic print or plaid it would cost--$475.00 Due to all the places that the fabric needs to match.

Lynn's Dining Chair-After

This is a cute chair skirt that goes in the dining area off the living room at Lyn's house. It ties both rooms together, is removable, is washable, can be drycleaned, and is not too cutesy. This lady has great tastes. With a chair skirt, you do not have to have the chair totally redone. The skirt can be changed a lot easier than doing reupholstering every time there is a spill or you redecorate.

Cost--begins at $35.00  Skirt can be tailored, long or short, and be attached in numerous ways.
